These are photos from a recent drawing installation titled, “Ashlynn’s Hostess Appreciation Program” on display at the Fina Gallery.
This project documents my grandmother’s involvement with Ashlynn’s Fashion Accessories, a pyramid scheme based out of Burnaby, British Columbia in the early 90’s. Ashlynn’s claimed to be selling high quality base metal jewellery - oxymoron - “direct from Africa,” with no addition information. My grandmother still owns a suitcase full of stock.
